There are so many stinky mosquitoes. I wake up in the middle of
the night for half an hour to itch myself and put on after-itch gel to
calm it and then get back to sleep. But this week I'm going to try
tea-tree oil; I hear that works really well.
Last week a new family moved into the branch--the
Barretts--an older couple who lives on a farm about 1 1/2 hrs away. And
guess what? They are from the same town as another family in our
branch, that wants to come more often than they do, but can't, so now
they have resources!! And, the Barretts stay after church and help us
teach Chaudhry. And then they feed us. AND--they want us to come out
to their place for a few days, and it is so primitive it's basically
like camping. Heavenly Father must really love me or something. :)
Zone conference was really great. It was just so
much fun to see Elder Richins, Elder Frenkel, and Elder Turner all in
one place. Best district ever.
Winnipeg
Stake Women's Conference was also great this week. Our branch was in
charge of food so we put together sandwiches in that kitchen for hours
but it was so fun. We each went to a couple of break-out sessions. The
last one Sister Porter and I went to was about being anchored on the
atonement and it was SO good!!!!
I really want to center my missionary work and all I
do more and more on the Savior. What he did for us and His atonement
is so pivotal, and I think sometimes it can be easy to miss that when we
are looking at the fine print of day-to-day details, but we really need
to see the big picture sometimes. Especially with finding new
investigators. I am so focused on finding, that sometimes I wonder if I
don't miss the whole point.
Matt Ch 4:18-20:
18 ¶And Jesus, walking by the sea of
Galilee, saw two brethren, Simon called Peter, and Andrew his brother,
casting a net into the sea: for they were fishers.
19 And he saith unto them, Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men.
20 And they straightway left their nets, and followed him.
I
want to follow Him even more that I do. He is The One that makes all
of the difference. I just need to have the faith to drop it all, stop
going for fish, but go for what ever He leads me to.
John 15 and 1 Thes 2 are also GREAT references!
During
Women's Conference I received the inspiration to study the Book of
Mormon with grace (the enabling power of the atonement) in mind. I do
this when Sister Porter is in the shower, a yellow highlighter and a pen
in my hand. It has been so good. Don't just study. Study with Him in
mind. In all you do, do it with Him in mind. I know that He has done
everything for us; everything for us to get back to our Heavenly Father.
I love you, but more importantly Heavenly Father loves you and He sent His Son to earth to love you as well. Learn of Him.
Yours, Sister Heidi Hill
