Miracles are wherever you look for them.

People have been asking me about my miracles.  Some days there are large miracles, but really it's all in the small things.

Yesterday was kind of disappointing because none of our investigators came to church when we set up rides for them (three cars!).  I felt so bad like we let the members down, and especially the ones that were giving rides (they went all the way over to the investigators house to have a no-show).  So I was starting to feel pretty down in my second sacrament meeting (because we attend Lewvan at one after the Sunrise ward at nine).  But then I decided that I needed to notice the little miracles in the day.

For starters, at Sunrise that morning, one of the less active YSA men came and brought an old-less active lady that we asked him to bring last minute: miracle.

Sister G, a lady with cancer, came to sacrament meeting: miracle.

Then, later in the day when we went to help with nursery singing time, this little mulatto girl with the CUTEST curly hair came up and held my hand while we sang "I am a Child of God.": miracle.  (Seriously: I'm pretty sure little kids are the best part of my mission.  I love them!)

Miracles are wherever you look for them.  But, we did have some pretty great miracles earlier in the week.  On Tuesday, Sister Christensen and I went to a meal appointment at a lady's house and she invited her next door neighbor!  Not only did she become a new investigator, but she has also seen how the Book of Mormon has changed her life since she started reading it three weeks ago (also thanks to the member).  Since reading it, she has had no desire to go out and party, but she desires to stay home and look after her kids.  Miracle!

Second big miracle: Ron, Shannon's boyfriend, wants to be baptized!  Sister Marriott came to a lesson with us and it went a little something like this.  As we read from the Introduction to the Book of Mormon, Ron asked us the difference between Christian and Mormon.  After we explained that we are Christians with more scriptures, he asked us if he could be baptized as a Mormon, even though he'd already been baptized.  Now, both him and Shannon have the same baptismal date!!!! We just need to teach the Law of Chastity, which we're doing tonight.  Pray for us.

Funny Moment of the Week comes from my exchange with Sister Tomkinson in Moose Jaw.  Sister T's parents are deaf so she teaches ASL classes.  At her ASL class, we were going over feelings.  She called up a returning class-mate to the front to sign how he felt.  After signing, Sister T asked, "What were you trying to say?"  He said, "I am angry."  He got the "I am" right, but then he asked what the last sign he did was.  Sister Tomkinson told him that the last word he had signed was "idiot."  :) Ha ha... We all had a good laugh.

What are your miracles???

LOVE, Sister Heidi Hill
